Bad Investment

I previously wrote a letter complaining about Audibel - it was shown to have happened in Charlotte, N.C. - that is wrong it was Fort Myers, Florida-on Daniels Parkway, They told us the reason it did not work was because of wax in his ears - this is not correct and they told us this after the time passed to return them We were cheated out of $5,200.00. They promise you great things and give you junk - our junk is now in a box because my husband's hearing is terrible but he can hear better without the worthless hearing aids from Audibel. I have contacted them numerous times and the home office and they refuse to do anything about it. I would like to tell the world and warn them - to save them from the bad experience we had. Top of the line A2 RIC hearing aids

Paid $7,000 for a pair. Have been in to the factory several times for repairs. Now the original warranty has run out so it costs me $400 to repair. This industry robs seniors with sub-standard products and much inflated prices!

Went for appointment yesterday and yes it was all about the money. He put the aids in my ears which was amazing--first time hearing clearly in two years and then the price was the last thing he would discuss. Told me how they donated aids to people in other countries who could not afford them. Well I receive SS and get $931 a month to live. Up front they need to discuss the price instead of breaking your heart.... They did give a questionnaire with numbering things of their priority. My number one was the cost!!! I didn't care about the look. They could have looked like funnels for all I care. I have put this on Facebook so other people don't waste their time with your company. Have a nice day.

I am sick and tired of their phony commercials numerous times everywhere!! I paid $3300 for one to try it out and got nothing but LOUD NOISE.

Went back several times for so called frequency adjustments that did no good. They charged me $300 to fit the device in my ear.

My mom purchased $5200 RIC hearing aids from Audibel in Clearwater. In less than 2 weeks, the in-ear custom piece fell apart.

It took 2 weeks to replace the part, and she doesn't have any great difference in hearing than with her old Siemens aids. She wisely returned them when the saleman told her if something breaks, they will replace it. For $5200, they should not be falling apart in a few days. Also, when she went to return them, he berated her, saying he spent a lot of time with her (which is his job!), and then tried to sell her in-ear models that are inappropriate for her sever hearing loss.

Regarding the refund, they told her it could take 30 days.

WHY? I really don't trust this company.

I have worn hearing aids for several years. I went to a location in Macomb, IL and the original audiologist was very helpful and did whatever he could to help me. Later I went back and was told that he left and a female sales person was there. She had no idea what to do to fix or repair my aids. When I explained to her what my issues were all she could say was use closed captioning for the TV. She did not suggest a new or different aid for me. She changed my aids so I could not hear our of them at all. She was very rude and insulting. This individual needs to be fired!!!!!!!!

There is no Audibel dealer in Macomb, IL. This complaint doesn't seem to be legitament. Audibel only uses dispensers that are both licensed and well trained.

Hearing aids can't be tested.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The efficiency of the hearing aids cannot be tested with a standard hearing test. Headphones can't be used so no audio gram of my hearing can be verified.

Why testing with speakers have yet to be developed is beyond me. They are going solely on a computer link to see if the aids are working and "how I think I hear". An optometrist will always put me back on the eye chart after giving me new glasses to verify the prescription is correct and the glasses were made well.

Why can't the audiologist do the same with my hearing aids. This is a major flaw in the technology and needs to be immediately addressed.

So dissapointed , just not right!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
To say I was dissapointed in this company is understatement . It's all about the money and up selling every chance they get. My Aunt a lovely 82 year old went into the Plant city, Fl office because her older hearing aides just were not working anymore. I brought her , she had the exam and of course she was told that she would need the highest quality because she had so much damage. She agreeded and to the tune of $7000.00 ! She had to go in many times to have them adjusted, still wasn't great. Here is the worst part of the story, she went to the hairdresser and always has to take them out. When she arrived home she could only find one. She was so upset, I told her to call the office and tell them what happened, I am sure for 7000.00 they are guaranteed ! Guess what No guarantee at all , further more they wanted 1500.00 to replace. She was devestated! I have a real problem with no guarantee for that about of an investment. The other thing that gets me , is their commercial , American made and they truly care about people and their hearing needs, well I here to say that is ***!!!!!!! They didn't care about my Aunt they only cared about her MONEY! There is no reason they will treat you any different, don't waste your time or money . I will also be reporting this to the Better Business Burreau

Hearing aids often take several visits to be adjusted, because it takes a while to get used to the new sounds and what the patient likes on day one is not the same sounds they want thirty days later. This is true of any fitting system.

The ear with impaired hearing is not in a good position to know what is 'normal'. The typical deductible for a loss or damage claim is 25% of list price, though we charge $300 here

Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Money is all any company cares about.

I've never bought anything with a guarantee that if I lost it they would replace it for free! What is this guy talking about?

Seriously?

If you lost it... that's your fault!

A Total Ripoff

I just came across this website and felt the need to share my story also. I purchased a set of Anthem XT Silver CIC Hearing Aids back in June of 2015. I started experiencing issues with the hearing aids. For example, they would not stay in my ears and they did not work properly. I also realized that over $5000.00 was too expensive to pay for a set of hearing aids. Due to my dissatisfaction with the product and the price, I contacted the local Audibel office in my hometown of Fayetteville, NC about receiving a full refund. I was informed that I could come into the local office and meet with the hearing aid specialist and bring the hearing aids with me. However, when I went into the local office to return the hearing aids and meet with the hearing aid specialist, the encounter that I experienced was not very pleasant. For example, whenever I expressed my dissatisfaction and desire to return the hearing aids, which were still under the 30-day return policy, the hearing aid specialist became upset and started raising his voice by stating the following: “What do you mean that you don’t want them anymore?” What’s the problem now?” “You said that you wanted them.” “Is it the price?” “We discussed this before and you said that you could afford it.” As a result, at this point, I felt like I was being coerced and pressured into keeping these hearing aids that I no longer wanted. My wife accompanied me and witnessed his aggressive and irate behavior. Audibel is a ripoff. These hearing aids are way too expensive and they do not work properly. I felt coerced and pressured into this agreement from the beginning. I want back every penny that I have invested in this. This company takes advantage of veterans, the elderly, and basically anyone else whom they feel that they can ripoff. Stay away from this company.

I agree with the other commenter. They can’t stop you from returning them if you are still within your 30 day return period.

What difference does it make if you hurt the salesman’s feelings? He didn’t seem to care about your feelings.

Don’t give in to pressure when you are in the right. If you did decide to keep them, when you could have returned them then you have no right to complain.

What does it matter what someone said? If you want to return them...return them! I don't see in your post where they refused to allow you to return them.

In July I answered an add in the Salt Lake Tribune. the add said

that this was the best hearing aid on the market.

I paid $4,800.

It had a sharp tinny lispie sound. It was very hard to listen to . That was eight months ago and I still can't hear and they haven't improved at all.

I ask for my money back.

I was told that that wasn't going to happen. If you live in West Jordon don't go to the Audibel office.

How I Learned to Work With My Audibel Hearing Aids

How I Learned to Work With My Audibel Hearing Aids
Updated by user Nov 13, 2016

I am a customer of Audibel in Port Richey, FL. I do not Twitter Audibel, nor do have any reason to seek them out on LinkedIn or any other social media, and therefore I have no idea why you request the above information which has no relevance to me or my experience with Audibel.

I am submitting my experience with them because Audibel has been very good to me and for me, and I think some of the negative comments on here may be because the customers do not always appreciate the extreme value and delicacy of the products they use. These hearing aids are extraordinary but relatively fragile instruments--wearing a micro-computer in your ears!! Yes, they are expensive, but what's it worth to be able to hear?! Priceless!

What's it worth for a paraplegic to have a $20,000 wheelchair?

I am a grateful consumer, and the Port Richey office has supported my product from thousands of miles away! And when I clean these tiny instruments, or put them in place or remove them from my ears, I treat them as if they have the value of very precious stones--because for me they do!

Original review Nov 11, 2016
I have been wearing top-of-the-line Audibel hearing aids for over five years, and have upgraded once during that time. I have gone from total unawareness that I had a hearing problem to near total reliance on my hearing aids both professionally and quality-of-life wise. The sophisticated technology of these tiny little things is amazing, and when I don't have them in my ears, I am still shocked at how my world shrinks. I learned to respect my hearing aids and I now treat them with a care befitting precious gems. They are delicate, a challenge to get them to fit just right in your ear, and if, like me, you use reading glasses, when you remove your glasses from your ear, it is easy to dislodge your hearing aids. And they are so light that if they fall on the floor or sidewalk, you might never even know it. The tiny white filters screw in and out, and you don't just pull or pry them out. When I clean them I pay attention to where I put them, how I handle them, and I give them the respect such a significant and delicate purchase demands. And I don't mind one bit because I simply can't imagine life without them. I am a writer and I interview a lot of people, and my hearing is critical to my success. And I have found the Audibel office in Port Richey, under Erica's leadership to be patient, good teachers, and caring. I spend at least half of my time traveling and I am currently residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Recently I had an issue with one of my hearing aids and I could not have asked for better support than I received. I am grateful for Erica and her team and I am grateful that I can hear. How do you put a price on that?

Audibel - A4 Ric Hearing Aids Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Paid $5000 for pair of "top of the line" aids. BS! MSRP was over $12,000. Right! Nothing but problems. Were sent back to factory 4 times to be rebuilt. Still having problems. They prey on seniors. Was supposed to meet previous owner in August to discuss problem. Never showed. Told "hearing aid specialist" that they would give me "new and improved" pair for $4000 and take old pair back. Told him no way I was throwing good money after bad. Stay away from this outfit. Nothing but junk.
